The Archive

About the Archive and Its Methods

Tempopandaminglearct is a small, independent reading room for people who enjoy a good puzzle and dislike being told tall tales. We keep case files, not campfire stories.

Why the Archive Exists

Popular retellings of mysteries tend to drift. A detail is exaggerated, then repeated, then cited as fact. We began this archive to slow that drift: to return to the earliest available records, to name what has been settled, and to keep the genuine questions visible rather than buried under noise.

We are not debunkers, and we are not believers. We are record-keepers. When a mystery is solved, we enjoy that as much as the mystery itself.

The precise question that remains unanswered once the noise is cleared away.

How a File Is Built

Each case starts with the oldest sources we can reach: official reports, court records, scientific papers and contemporary newspapers. Later books and documentaries are read for leads, not for authority. Every topic page ends with a list of sources so readers can follow the trail themselves.

The archive is written by a small editorial team based in Edinburgh, working under the shared byline of "the archivist". We prefer the case to be the star, not the writer.

Corrections

When new evidence appears, or a reader catches a mistake, we update the file and note the change. Send corrections through the case report tool.

Independence

We are not affiliated with any museum, university, government agency or broadcaster, and no organisation pays to appear in our files.
